PRAGNUM puts an end to the long-standing confrontation between Kvazar-Micro and Ukrgasvydobuvannya

The team of lawyers consisting of Oleksandr Mostovyi, Olena Michurina and Pavlo Karpyn, led by Managing Partner Vitaly Bobrynev, successfully completed an extremely interesting and at the same time complex case on debt recovery in the amount of over UAH 33 million, which a customer, Ukrgasvydobuvannya Joint-Stock Company, refused to pay for the setup and implementation of the integrated SAP automated system, despite the fact that the service acceptance certificates were signed without any comments.

As a reminder, Ukrgasvydobuvannya is the largest gas producer in Central and Eastern Europe, producing approximately 73% of Ukrainian gas and is a subsidiary of Naftogaz Ukraine.

Therefore, in order to verify the customer’s unfounded arguments that “the program does not work”, we had to contact the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise (KSRIFE) to conduct a forensic computer-technical expertise.

The difficulty in researching and evaluating the results of the work was that experts who could test the full functionality of an integrated automated management system based on SAP functional applications can be counted on one hand in Ukraine. After all, SAP is a conglomerate of systems, technologies and solutions used by leading companies around the world to manage their business as an integrated intellectual enterprise. SAP clients include: Google, Coca-Cola, Volkswagen, Deutsche Bank, UniCredit Group, the National Bank of Ukraine, OTP Bank, etc.

Thus, despite all the obstacles, such as the aggression of the security forces, the constant change in the defendant’s position, and the fact that the case was accompanied by several side processes, PRAGNUM’s team confirmed the position of its client, Kvazar-Micro, the first IT company in the post-Soviet area, by recovering UAH 33.5 million in favour of the SAP integrator.
