As we reported earlier, on June 30, a meeting with business representatives was held at the Kiev Chamber of Commerce and Industry. We dicussed one of the most urgent topics of modern business conduct - the topic of cybersecurity.

Senior Associate Oleksii Nekrasov shared an advices and practical experience with the participants of the event.

A few practical tips from Oleksii:

• Put good doors and a video surveillance system in the office, which will keep records in the clouds (with the router should be outside the office).
• Teach the staff the basics of behavior during sudden investigative actions and appoint a responsible person to whom each employee can apply.
• Keep the "hygiene" of the desktop and remind the staff about it.
• Remember that you have not only duties, but also rights (for example - do not say anything and do not sign anything).
• Don't give anything to law enforcement officers without an audit / agreement with a lawyer.
• Limit staff access to unnecessary business information.
• Maximum document the right of staff access to information and their notice of responsibility for its disclosure.
• Don't forget about the correct registration of the rights to the equipment / program and the need to have relevant documents in the office.
• Maximally diversify the owners of equipment, premises, goods.
• Encryption, backups, clouds. In the 21st century MUST HAVE everyone!

Case from practice: the "white" company has invested a lot of money in the cloud storage system. But the accountant was uncomfortable waiting for the program to load and it saved all the information on the server. During the inspection, the investigators were "very pleased" when they seized the server and received all the company's internal information. The question is - why to invest in expensive technology?

The topic of cloud services was one of the main ones at the meeting, since at the moment it is, in fact, the only way to protect the company's internal information.
